The laser proximity sensor that uses laser technology to make measurements. It consists of a laser, a laser detector and a measurement circuit.
The Laser sensor is a new type of measuring instrument, which has the advantages of non-contact long-distance measurement, fast speed, high accuracy, large range, strong resistance to light and electrical interference, etc.
When the laser sensor works, the laser pulse is first fired by the laser emitting diode aiming at the target. The laser light is reflected by the target and scattered in all directions. Some of the scattered light is returned to the sensor receiver, where it is picked up by the optical system and imaged on the avalanche photodiode.
The avalanche photodiode is an optical sensor with an internal amplification function, so the laser sensor can detect extremely weak optical signals and convert them into corresponding electrical signals. The most common is the laser ranging sensor, which can measure the distance of the target by recording and processing the time between the light pulse sending and the receiving. Laser sensor must measure transmission time with extreme accuracy because light travels so fast.
