What Is The Proximity Switch?
The proximity switch is a position switch that can be operated without mechanical direct contact with moving parts, and when an object is close to the sensing surface of the switch to the operating distance, no mechanical contact and no pressure is required to cause the switch to act, thereby driving a direct-current electrical device or giving control commands to a computer (PLC) device.
The Proximity switch is a kind of switch type sensor (i.e. non-contact switch), it has the characteristics of travel switch, micro switch, and at the same time has the sensing performance, and reliable action, stable performance, fast frequency response, long application life, strong anti-interference ability, and has the characteristics of waterproof, shockproof, corrosion resistance, etc.
The products are available in inductive proximity switch, capacitive proximity switch, Hall sensor, AC and DC type.
Proximity Switch Features:
1. Inspection distance
The proximity switch detect the stop, start and pass positions of elevators and lifting equipment; detection of the position of vehicles to prevent collision detection of two objects; detection of the set position of working machinery, the limit position of moving machinery or parts; detection of the stop position of the slewing body, the opening or closing position of valves.
2. Dimensional control
The proximity switch control device for sheet metal punching shears; automatic selection, identification of metal part lengths; detection of pile height during automatic loading and unloading; detection of length, width, height and volume of items.
3. Detection of the presence of objects
The proximity switch test the production packaging line for the presence of product boxes; testing the presence of product parts.
4. Speed and speed control
The proximity switch controls the speed of the conveyor; controls the speed of the rotating machinery; controls the speed and number of revolutions in conjunction with various pulse generators.
5. Counting and control
The proximity switch test the number of products flowing through the production line; measuring the number of revolutions of a high-speed rotary axis or disc; counting parts.
6. Detection of anomalies
The proximity switch test the bottle caps; judgment of product qualification and failure; testing the lack of metal products in the box; distinguishing between metal and non-metal parts; product labeling; crane danger zone alarm; safety escalator automatic start and stop.
7. Measurement control
Automatic metering of products or parts; control of number or flow rate by detecting the range of the pointer of a meter or gauge; detection of buoys to control surface height, flow rate; detection of iron buoys in stainless steel drums; control of upper or lower limits of gauge range; flow rate control, horizontal surface control.
8. Object of identification
Identify yes and no based on the code on the carrier.
9. Transmission of information
The ASI (bus) connects sensors at various locations on the device to transmit data back and forth in the production line (50-100 meters), etc.
